چکیده
The classical wetting models, such as the Wenzel and Cassie-Baxter have been extensively used to quantify wettability of laser-textured surfaces. However, these models do not provide any description corresponding droplet dynamics. In this work, we propose a detailed continuum-level modelling study dynamics water on Ti-6Al-4V alloy. calculations are performed for flat surfaces with various reliefs. calculated evolutions spreading parameter surfaces, triangular reliefs one two different periods heights only explanations several experimental results but also underline perspectives using complex efficient control. Thus, simulations shown be useful in relief design laser texturing wide range applications, example, treatment artificial implants prostheses.

Modified Wenzel and Cassie Equations for Wetting on Rough Surfaces
We study a stationary wetting problem on rough and inhomogeneous solid surfaces. We derive a new formula for the apparent contact angle by asymptotic two-scale homogenization method. The formula is reduced to a modified Wenzel equation for geometrically rough surfaces and a modified Cassie equation for chemically inhomogeneous surfaces. Unlike the classical Wenzel and Cassie equations, the modi...
متن کاملCassie-Wenzel wetting transition in vibrating drops deposited on rough surfaces: is the dynamic Cassie-Wenzel wetting transition a 2D or 1D affair?
The transition between the Cassie and Wenzel wetting regimes has been observed under vertical vibration of a water drop placed on a rough micrometrically scaled polymer pattern. The transition takes place under the constant force per unit length of the triple contact line, not under constant pressure. A study of the vibrating drop deposited on the rough surface supplied valuable information con...
متن کاملA modified Cassie-Baxter relationship to explain contact angle hysteresis and anisotropy on non-wetting textured surfaces.
The Cassie-Baxter model is widely used to predict the apparent contact angles obtained on composite (solid-liquid-air) superhydrophobic interfaces. However, the validity of this model has been repeatedly challenged by various research groups because of its inherent inability to predict contact angle hysteresis. In our recent work, we have developed robust omniphobic surfaces which repel a wide ...
متن کاملElectrical switching of wetting states on superhydrophobic surfaces: a route towards reversible Cassie-to-Wenzel transitions.
We demonstrate that the equilibrium shape of the composite interface between superhydrophobic surfaces and drops in the superhydrophobic Cassie state under electrowetting is determined by the balance of the Maxwell stress and the Laplace pressure. Energy barriers due to pinning of contact lines at the edges of the hydrophobic pillars control the transition from the Cassie to the Wenzel state. B...
